July 18, 2011 - Welcome to the New Site
Hello! Welcome to the new Philadelphia Slick website. Feel free to show yourself around – there’s already tons of content up like free music, pictures, lyrics and artwork from our albums, PSST! (philly slick street team) info and more. Shoot us a message via the form if you’ve got any questions, comments, or concerns. Of course you can like us on facebook, follow us on twitter, and stay up with all of our youtube and vimeo clips.
Now, the mere fact that you’re reading this now should mean you dig hip hop – at least a little. And there will be plenty of that going down, so I figured we can use this space to speak on subjects that cut through hip hop, or that hip hop cuts through: the stuff on the periphery.
Like who is this website voice that everyone uses? The one that always greets you upon page load:
Welcome to Philadelphiaslick.com. We specialize in the configuration and assembly of beats and rhymes through sample-to-live-to-sample-to-live-based production and dope musicians and emcees.
For the most part there will be none of that here. Hopefully this site reads like we speak or write: we being MC Noesis (that’s me, and it rhymes with oasis FYI) or whoever decides to throw some stuff up on here for you to check out (I hear bassist-journalist Mike P is eager.) Those that know me know that I’ve become a web designer over the past couple years and the old Philly Slick site killed me every time I updated it or navigated through it. I finally got around to putting something together that has some pretty cool features, and there’s definitely some more stuff in the works (for instance I’ve always wanted to make an online drum machine/sampler.)
We know the site performs pretty well on mobile devices, but there have been some problems with video. I’ll be working on a mobile version of the site in the coming months, so look out for that.
I hope this home not only excels where the last one failed, but in doing so, brings you – our ‘family-friend-fans’ – closer to us and our music. If you’ve got anything to say, including any technical problems, just email me: noesis@philadelphiaslick.com.
- Noesis
